🟡 DOUBLE HEADLIGHT
Halogen · 2 bulbs each side
  • One bulb for dipped, one for main beam
  • Usually H7 + H7, H7 + H15 or H7 + H1
  • Yellowish light, no round lens
🔵 SINGLE HEADLIGHT
Xenon · 1 bulb does both
  • One xenon bulb does dipped AND main
  • D3S on most · D5S on later cars · D1S/D2S on early A3
  • Blue-white light, round glass lens, headlight washers
⚪ FACTORY LED
Sealed unit · no bulb
  • Strips of LEDs, no bulb inside
  • Can't be upgraded with a bulb – fogs still can
