Mk6 fog bulbs depend on the version: most Golfs use HB4 (9006), the GTI and GTD use H8. The reversing bulb depends on the body and rear lights. Check the code on your old bulbs, or send us your reg.
Full kits and the Mk6: our Golf full kits come with H11 fogs, which don't fit most Mk6 Golfs. For a Mk6, choose a headlight kit and add the HB4 fogs (H8 for GTI / GTD).

Golfs built from November 2016 (Mk7.5) use an H9 main beam instead of H15. A Golf registered in 2017 can be either, so check the code on your old main beam bulb or send us your reg.

H9 or H15? VW changed the main beam from H15 to H9 on Golfs built from November 2016. Some listings show H15 for 2017 cars because they go by registration year, not build date. Check the code on your old main beam bulb before ordering.
LED holders
- Mk6 and Mk7 H7 dipped beam: these Golfs use VW's own H7 holder. Our M200 and K65 H7 bulbs need the Golf Mk6 / Mk7 H7 LED holder (×2). It's included in the M200 Hi + Low kit (Mk6 / Mk7) and the Mk7 M200 Full Kit. The VW 150 Kit bulbs have the VW base built in, so they don't need it.
- Mk6 and Mk7 H15 main beam: To verify we're confirming whether our H15 bulbs need a holder on the Golf. Ask us before ordering, and check both the main beam and the daytime lights work after fitting.
- Mk7.5 H7 and H9: To verify our Mk7.5 kit comes with a holder, but we're still confirming which holder fits each headlight, so ask us before ordering.
Fitting & dust covers
- Fit the bulbs with the headlights off and cool.
- Check the LED sits flat and is held firmly before refitting the dust cover. Don't force it.
- LED bulbs have a fan or heat sink at the back. Make sure the dust cover closes fully and the cable isn't pinched.
- Test every bulb with the engine running and check for dash warnings.
CANBUS ready
- Golfs check their bulbs electronically. Our bulbs are built to work with most car warning systems.
- Some cars may still show a bulb warning or flicker and need a canceller (about €10 a pair). We can't guarantee there will be no dashboard warnings.
Beam alignment
- Turn each LED to the position shown in the bulb's own fitting instructions.
- Set the headlight levelling dial to 0 with the car unloaded.
- Check the beam pattern and cut-off against a wall, then have the aim checked by a garage.
LED bulbs are an aftermarket upgrade, not an original halogen replacement. Whether your car is roadworthy and passes the NCT depends on the bulbs having appropriate type approval, being compatible with your car, being fitted correctly and having the beam aligned correctly. We can't guarantee an NCT result. Not sure which Golf you have? Send us your reg or a photo of your headlights.
